Weekly volunteer days

 

  • Dates: Every Tuesday

  • Place: Tegryn, North Pembrokshire

  • Cost: Free

 

Come along on Tuesday mornings to work with a team of other volunteers to develop practical woodland management and land-based skills.

 

No previous experience is needed, guidance and support will always be provided.

Guided Walk

 

  • Dates: 6 June, 1.30pm - 3.30pm

  • Place: Allt Pengegin, North Pembrokeshire (full details provided on booking)

  • Cost: Free (booking essential)

 

Come along  for a leisurely 1.5 mile walk in Allt Pengegin with local Ranger and County bird recorder. Come and discover the variety of birds that live in this special woodland. Learn about the interesting behaviour and habits of these wonderful birds. 

A free event as part of the Preseli Woodland project.

Lino printing for beginners,
workshop in Welsh

 

Dates: 27 June, 10am - 3pm

Place: Y Stiwdio, Hermon, North Pembrokeshire, SA36 0DX

Cost: £25

 

An adults' beginners workshop with Hywel Edwards. You will learn to transfer an image and carve a lino block design as well as print your finished image.

This workshop will be run in Welsh and is suitable for learners wanting to practice their skills, as well as fluent speakers.

Scythe training day

 

Dates: 27 June, 10am - 4pm

Place: CoedUNO, Tegryn, North Pembrokeshire

Cost: Free for CoedUNO volunteers, with donations welcomed from non-volunteers

The day will cover scythe set-up, safe and efficient mowing technique, sharpening in the field, and a brief introduction to peening — what it is, why it matters, and how it helps keep a scythe blade working well. The session will be led by Kevin Rabbitt and Jack Wheatley, both experienced scythe users and agroecological growers.

Hay in a Day at CoedUNO 

 

Dates: 4 July

Place: CoedUNO, Tegryn, North Pembrokeshire

Cost: Free

Join us at CoedUNO for a seasonal “Hay in a Day” gathering, close to the first full moon after the summer solstice. We’ll be inviting volunteers, families and visitors to help cut a small hay crop, turn and gather the hay, and build a traditional-style hay rick on staves of “hay-zel”.

Gardening Volunteer Days

 

  • Dates: every Tuesday, 1.30-3.30pm

  • Place: Y Stiwdio, Hermon, Crymych , Pembrokeshire, SA36 0DX

  • Cost: Free

Do you enjoy gardening out in nature or are keen to learn new growing skills? Join our small team of volunteer gardeners on a flexible basis.

Tea and coffee is provided, we have gardening tools and gloves available on site. Learning from the expertise of Cwm Arian staff members and other gardening volunteers. For more info and to join, email: stiwdio@cwmarian.org.uk 

Film Club at Y Stiwdio

 

Dates: Cancelled, relaunching this autumn

Do you love the way film can bring us together, start conversations and spark your imagination? We do too, so we decided to set-up a film club.
