At CARE we are very proud of our relationship with local volunteers but are always looking for ways to improve their experiences. Over the past 8 months we have been working with the team from Investing in Volunteers, the UK standard for good practice in volunteer management. With their advice and guidance we have been streamlining our approach to policy and paperwork giving more consistency across projects and ensuring we have the highest standards of care possible for anyone choosing to donate time to our projects.
Many of the staff at CARE started as volunteers and we recognise the value that volunteering has in gaining experience that leads to employment, cultivating friendships and giving back to our local community.
We are thrilled to announce that we have now completed our work with Investing in Volunteers and have gained accreditation through them to show our existing and potential volunteers how much they are valued and give them confidence in our ability to provide an outstanding volunteer experience.
A thank you to all the staff who shared their experiences of working with volunteers and try their best to make volunteering as fun, rewarding and cake-filled as they can.. even in the most adverse weather conditions! A huge thanks as well to all the volunteers who took part in the accreditation process, talked to the assessor about their experiences with CARE and shared what volunteering means to them – we can’t do what we do without you!
