Join the CARE Board of Directors: Shaping the Future of Cwm Arian

CARE, short for Cwm Arian Renewable Energy, isn't just an organisation; it's a vibrant group of enthusiastic individuals dedicated to fostering community resilience in Pembrokeshire. We're driven by a shared vision of sustainable living, community empowerment, and environmental stewardship. CARE operates as a non-profit community benefit society, undertaking various initiatives such as energy support services, land-based enterprises and community development. Our diverse projects reflect our commitment to renewable energy, poverty alleviation, and community engagement. Together, we strive to create a more sustainable, connected and conscious future in west Wales.




Why a Board of Directors at CARE?

We champion collaboration and equality, bidding farewell to outdated hierarchies favouring a structure which embodies these values. The board works closely with the staff as well as the community. This approach allows us to tap into a wealth of diverse perspectives, skills, and ideas. As a team, we keep on track to ensure decisions align with our community's goals.

Our Board of Directors is made up of skills in fundraising, finance, communications, human resources, and local government, bringing a real mix of invaluable experience to the table. By having a mix of skills and perspectives at the table, we ensure our decisions are well-rounded and thoughtful.



The ideal candidate

We are searching for the perfect person to join our CARE team by sitting on the board of directors. We're a friendly, creative bunch and we're looking for someone who can bring good energy, fresh ideas, and a good dose of enthusiasm to the table. While experience in fundraising, finance, communications, human resources, or local government is fantastic, what truly matters is your belief in the power of community and your enthusiasm for making a difference.

Although not exclusive, we are particularly interested in individuals with significant experience in one or more of the following areas:

● Fundraising and partnerships, proven success in grant writing and establishing partnerships.

● Small organisation finance, demonstrated expertise in financial management for small organisations.

● Communications, media & marketing, proficiency in strategic communication, media relations, and marketing.

● Human resources and recruitment.

● Local government, understanding of local government processes and experience collaboration with government enteties.

To apply, please submit a CV (maximum two pages) and a 1-page cover letter outlining your interest in the role and the value you can bring to the board of directors. We welcome individuals with 5+ years of professional experience, particularly those with prior board or trustee experience in small organizations or charities, although it's not essential.
